Communal facilities

We are about enjoying the natural world with others on our quiet rural village site next to limestone cliffs, a nature reserve and heritage monument and walking distance from pubs, shops and takeaways. So hidden, tranquil, quiet and rural, but not remote.

Our facilities are deliberately basic but comfortable, with many having been made from recycled materials.

Communal barn

The washing-up facilities are found within our communal barn and comprise a toilet, hot-water shower and hand-washing basin. Our shower is definitely quirky – having been made from a recycled pipe! – but is also private and comfortable.

The commubarnnal barn is also the perfect space for a rainy day. Here you can sit together at our picnic tables, enjoy a round of table tennis, buy second-hand books or hire games. There is also workshop space for woodwork, pottery and other activities (available to order – minimum numbers apply) as well as plenty of resources providing local information.

Our kitchen offers everything you might need for a great meal – just kitchenbring your own ingredients!

  • Gas cooker
  • Fridge/freezer
  • Microwave
  • Kettle
  • Toaster
  • Pots and pans
  • Cutlery and crockery

Please note that, in the spirit of the great outdoors, those who are camping are expected to bring their own cooking and eating equipment but may have use of a fridge/freezer.

Access to use of the kitchen can be made for an additional fee.

Enjoyfire pit our on-site picnic area, fire pit and outdoor ‘kitchen’ –complete with pizza oven! – or head up the Llanymynech Rocks, right behind the farm, for a picnic or a stunning walk.

A simple gravelled car park is also available on site.

Facilities on the rest of the site are limited to achieve our ecological aims. Examples include:
– No external lighting beyond the buildings. We don’t want the light pollution so bring a wind up torch!
– Limited hard surfacing, as much as we can to avoid water run-off increase and other negative impacts
– Only heating buildings where necessary
– No power to camping units

There are waste and recycling points. Fire Wood is for sale on site along with other basics and some local craft and product. There are large ponds and lots of outdoor space both on site and in the immediate surrounding area.

Please be aware, there are some items of restricted equipment which should not be touched, deep ponds and restricted areas. It’s the parent’s responsibility to ensure children behave at all times.

Please also check out our basic rules and restrictions to keep everyone happy and safe.
